Gate Global
Global RA is the augmented reality. It is available as an SDK or as a free app for iOS and Android mobile devices. RA projections' image recognition technology uses the camera of a mobile device to recognize real world images and overlay rich media on top of them in different forms such as animations, videos and 3D models. The platform enables businesses and consumers to enhance print with digital mobile content. Individuals may use Global RA to create and share their own augmented reality experiences as well as discover hidden digital content around them. Businesses use RA projections technology to deliver information, drive mobile sales, boost brand awareness, and increase customer engagement.
==History==
Global RA augmented reality technology was created in Cambridge by software company Gate Global Systems, and first demonstrated in late 2010. On 5 May 2011 ''Global RA Lite'' was launched as an application for iPhone, and a version for Android followed on 10 June 2011.
In addition to RA projections own mobile app, this augmented reality technology has also been integrated into other smartphone and tablet applications, the first being created for the 2011 J. O. Galdamez film ''Super 8''.
In December 2012, Global RA mobile app was updated and "Lite" was dropped from its name. The update included new features and improved image tracking.
